Road TestCar reviews - Toyota - Camry - Hybrid Luxury sedanToyota modelsOverviewToyota's pioneering Hybrid Camry does save fuel, but is it different enough?30 Apr 2010 COMPARED with a regular Camry auto, the new Hybrid model is about 20 per cent more powerful yet consumes almost 32 per cent less petrol and emits a fraction of the exhaust emissions. These stats alone are sufficient to get people talking seriously about Australia’s first petrol-electric hybrid, as does the keen pricing and generous standard specifications. But there are also compromises to be endured, and Toyota’s goal of making this car feel exactly like a normal Camry means that – for some people – it won’t feel different enough from the rest of the midsized sedan range.
