Super TestCar reviews - Toyota - Echo - Sportivo 5-dr hatchToyota modelsResearch Toyota What's Changed10 Aug 2001 SPORTIVO allows prospective Echo hatch customers to get their hands on the better-performing 1.5-litre engine that was previously reserved for the sedan. Which is great news considering the hatch - in either three-door or five-door body styles - is the pick for its wonderful level of seating versatility. A spec reshuffle has also meant the Sportivo models are now the only hatches with power mirrors and (front) windows, power door locks and remote locking. Of course, they're also the only to feature the Sportivo interior and exterior decoration, which includes combative front and rear bumpers, mesh grille, front foglights, black headlamp surrounds, side skirts, a chrome tailpipe extension and alloy wheels. On the inside there are bolstered front seats, a leather-clad gearknob and steering wheel, and mock carbon-fibre inserts around front-door switchgear.
