Just like Ford Australia, the Japanese car-maker was clever enough to pick the growing trend of buyers moving into SUV-styled family haulers pretty early on, and has not looked back since. Now into its third generation, the bigger, heavier mid-size seven-seat SUV rolls into Australia out of the United States rather than the vehicle’s traditional home, Japan. However, there’s no word yet on a more fuel-efficient hybrid version of the seven-seat family hauler joining the single V6 engine on offer here, or a diesel engine – both big attractions considering the fuel efficiency benefits they bring to buyers.
