Super TestCar reviews - Volkswagen - Passat - V6 Syncro sedanVolkswagen modelsSteering15 Feb 2001 By P TIBBLES THE Passat Syncro is controlled by a relatively fast-ratio power assisted rack and pinion steering system. Like virtually every front-wheel drive car today, the front end geometry uses negative steering offset to help cancel out the effects of varying friction coefficients on either side of the car. This tends to automatically correct any tendency to pull to one side if the braking surface differs from one side of the car to the other. The leather-rimmed steering wheel is adjustable for height and reach. Did you know? The Syncro's steering ratio allows a relatively fast 2¾ turns from lock to lock. Turning circle is a slightly large 11.4 metresAll car reviewsAlfa Romeo Abarth Alpine Alpina Audi Aston Martin BMW Bentley Chevrolet Chery Citroen Chrysler Dodge Cupra Ferrari DS Ford Fiat FPV Foton GWM Great Wall Holden Haval HSV Honda Hyundai Hummer Isuzu Infiniti Jeep Jaguar Lamborghini Kia LDV Land Rover Lotus Lexus Maserati Mahindra McLaren Mazda Mercedes-Benz Mercedes-AMG Mini MG Nissan Mitsubishi Peugeot Opel Proton Porsche Renault Ram Rover Rolls-Royce Skoda Saab SsangYong Smart Suzuki Subaru Toyota Tesla Volvo Volkswagen |
