Originally slated for a May or June release, the BL-series range (including the newly unveiled SP25 model) now will be available in late March. According to Mazda Australia PR manager Glenn Butler, this is as a result of low stocks of the existing BK range. “We’ve run out of stock, so it can’t come quick enough,” Mr Butler said. “At the rate we’re going, we will run out of stock by the middle of March.” Mr Butler said Mazda Australia requested an earlier arrival of the BL series from Mazda in Japan, and was granted its wish after the strong sales performance of the ‘3’ in run-out last month. “We didn’t expect to be running out of the old model as quickly as we have,” Mr Butler said. “And it would be nice to have some overlap with the new model.” Details of the new Mazda3 will be released this Friday, preceding the public launch at the Melbourne International Motor Show at the end of this month.
