Future models - Peugeot - 308 - TouringMelbourne show: Peugeot takes 308 TouringPeugeot does it again with another world debut at MIMS, this time with 308 Touring3 Mar 2008 PEUGEOT Automobiles Australia scored another major coup with the global public debut of the 308 Touring – the wagon version of its acclaimed small car – at the Melbourne International Motor Show media preview on Friday, a week ahead of its Geneva show appearance. After also presenting two world-first appearances with the 207 GTi and 207 CC at last year’s Melbourne show, the 308 Touring strode into the spotlight at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre under the watchful eye of leading global executive Bernd Schantz, Peugeot’s vice-president of international sales. Peugeot will introduce right-hand and left-hand drive versions at around the same time, so Australian sales will commence a few months after the vehicle goes on sale in Europe in June. Like its 307 wagon predecessor, the 308 Touring features a standard panoramic glass roof, but it is 27 per cent larger and extends beyond the second-row passengers, while the new model also has separate opening tailgate glass for easier loading of small items and seven-seat capability.
