Future models - Renault - WindFirst look: Renault windy in GenevaConvertible Wind concept heralds a new design direction for Renault17 Feb 2004 SET for its world debut at the Geneva motor show next month is the Wind convertible, which highlights Renault’s move away from the Megane’s chunky angles towards a simpler, more flowing organic look. Renault says the oddball 2+1-seater all-leather cabin fits "like a glove" and is ensconced by a fabric roof with a round rear window. High-tech elements include blue-tinted headlights, twin LED tail-lights, a six-speed "robitised" gearbox and lightweight construction. The 99kW 2.0-litre four-cylinder Wind weighs just 850kg. But the 1950s style dashboard, exaggerated wheel arches and classic roadster silhouette (complete with an upright windscreen) suggest Renault has also looked back in time for its styling inspiration.
