Future models - Subaru - Liberty - BlitzenFirst look: Subaru unveils Liberty BlitzenSubaru unveils its Liberty Blitzen in Melbourne ahead of its local release in June17 Feb 2006 By CHRIS HARRIS SUBARU has unveiled the limited-edition Liberty Blitzen, which borrows striking styling cues from the Japanese Legacy Blitzen that until now has not been available in Australia. Blitzen – a German word meaning "lightning" – combines the potent ability of the existing Liberty 3.0R-B with a long list of special body and interior treatments. Available in bright red or obsidian black, the limited-edition 3.0-litre Touring sedan goes on sale in June. Pricing will be announced closer to the release date but expect it to be around $60,000. It differs from normal Libertys with a new aerodynamic package including grille, front and rear bumpers, side sills, roof spoiler on the wagon and unique 18-inch alloy wheels. The car’s sporty character is further highlighted by wider bumpers, flared sills and the honeycomb grille. Just 200 sedan and wagon variants will be available, with either automatic and manual transmissions.
