Covering a variety of segments, the designs range from a pair of two-seater crossovers to a brace of city-cars and even a mobility scooter. The Crosshiker two-seater combines coupe styling with generous ground-clearance. Weighing in at just 810kg and armed with a1.0-litre three-cylinder engine, the compact two-door is claimed to be both entertaining and economical. Suzuki’s second two-door concept, the X-Lander, sports large knobbly tyres, four-wheel drive and hybrid powertrain, promising to hold its own off-road. Based on the Jimny, the roofless 1.3-litre two-seater has an “automatically controlled manual transmission” and is intended for a combination of both urban and rural driving. The Hustler compact city-car will go on show in two body styles – a roomy four-door sedan aimed at “people who love the nature, love the outdoors and love sports”, while the Hustler Coupe offers a similar package with sloping roofline and disguised rear-doors. Suzuki is even catering for the aged community for with a single-seat mobility scooter. Japanese car fans will also have an opportunity to see the iV-4 concept that made its global debut at the Frankfurt motor show last month. The Japanese car-maker will bolster its presence on home turf with a 40-metre wide panoramic screen dominating its “Let’s create a Brand New Story” themed stand. The giant screen will create a backdrop to the new concepts and will stream videos of the vehicles during the show, which were produced by acclaimed Japanese film-maker Shunji Iwai.
