Sport Collection variant added to X3 range

BMW adds more equipment and specification to X3 xDrive 30i, priced from $109,900

FOLLOWING the launch of 1, 2, and 3 Series and X1 and X2 Sport variants last year comes the first X3 model to wear the upscale badge.

Priced from $109,900 driveaway, or $12,000 more than the retail price of the derivative model, the BMW X3 xDrive30i Sport Collection adds a higher level of equipment and specification, including standard metallic paint, sunroof, and premium audio package.

The variant slots midway through the X3 range, sitting above the iX3 EV at $104,900 plus on-road costs and below the xDrive30e (plug-in hybrid) from $111,800 +ORC.

Specifically, the X3 xDrive30i Sport Collection is available with metallic paint in M Carbon Black, Mineral White, or M Brooklyn Grey; 20-inch double-spoke Orbit Grey alloy wheels, a panoramic glass sunroof, front seat heating and lumbar support, and a 16-speaker harman/kardon surround sound system.

The features join existing M Sport content, including adaptive suspension, Vernasca leather upholstery, head-up display, BMW Live Cockpit Professional with dual 12.3-inch displays, electric tailgate operation, keyless entry and start, electric driver seat adjustment with memory function, and M Aluminium Rhombicle Dark Black high gloss trim with Pearl Chrome accents.

Just 350 examples of the variant will be offered locally, offering customers “a compelling proposition … with an optimised equipment offering”.

Power continues to arrive courtesy of BMW’s 185kW/350Nm 2.0-litre TwinPower Turbo engine and eight-speed automatic transmission combination driving all four wheels. Combined cycle fuel consumption is listed at 7.6 litres per 100km with CO2 emissions of 174 grams per kilometre.

The BMW X3 continues to be one of the more popular German brands in the Medium SUV over $60K segment, selling 2045 units this year to date (YTD). Further, BMW has sold 409 examples of the X4, taking combined segment sales to 2454.

Elsewhere in the segment, we find the Tesla Model Y topping the charts with 14,220 YTD sales, followed by the Lexus NX (2767), Audi Q5 (2404), BMW X3 (2045), Porsche Macan (1631), Volvo XC60 (1515), Mercedes-Benz GLC Wagon (1402, with a further 746 Coupe variants), and Mercedes-Benz GLB (1223).

This is an agreement between GoAutoMedia Pty Limited ACN 094 732 457 of PO Box 18, Beach Road, Sandringham, VIC, 3191 (“we/us”), the owner and operator of the GoAuto.com.au website (“the website”) and the person wanting GoAuto.com.au to provide them with a lead for the purchase of a new car (“you”).

By completing a New Car Lead Enquiry, you agree to the terms and conditions and disclaimers and acknowledge the policies set out below.

Terms and Conditions

In order for us to effect a lead you must you must complete a New Car Lead Enquiry (“Enquiry”).
We will call you as soon as possible after you complete the Enquiry and certainly no later than the next business day. When we call, we will discuss with you your new car requirements.
You consent to our passing on the Enquiry and your requirements to an appropriate authorised motor car dealer as a lead.
We will contact you again in approximately eight days following your initial enquiry to check on the progress of the Enquiry.
While we will provide the dealer with the Enquiry and details of your new car requirements, we take no responsibility for what happens after passing on that material as a lead.
You acknowledge that we are a new car information service providing new car editorial information, pictures and prices to our customers as a guide only. Any new car prices published on the website are the manufacturers’ recommended retail prices and do not include delivery charges and on-road costs. Any authorized motor car dealer to which we pass on your Enquiry as a lead will provide you with full details of the price at which the vehicle will be sold to you.
You acknowledge that we do not sell motor vehicles. Any sale of a new car to you by a dealer after we have passed on your Enquiry to that dealer as a lead, is a sale by that dealer not by us.

Our policy is to ensure that the personal information collected when you make an Enquiry is only used for the purposes of connecting you with an authorised motor car dealer.
