New models - Mercedes-Benz - C-Class - C63 AMGBenz Edition 63 just for AustraliaMercedes-Benz Australia lands an exclusive version of the popular C63 AMG6 Aug 2009 SUCH is the popularity of the piping-hot Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG in Australia that the Stuttgart maker has produced a limited-edition version just for our market. Due to arrive here in November in both sedan and wagon body styles, the ‘Edition 63’ will be limited to just 63 examples, only 10 of which will receive a unique ‘designo magno Allanite Grey’ matt exterior paint finish. The C63 AMG Edition 63 sedan will be priced at $169,900 – some $25,535 more than the $144,365 four-door upon which its is based – while the C63 AMG Edition 63 Estate will sell for $172,900 – $26,629 more than the garden-variety C63 wagon ($146,271). Both models will come with the same 336kW/600Nm 6.2-litre petrol V8 and seven-speed automatic transmission combination that makes the regular C63s so special, propelling them to 100km/h in the same 4.5 seconds (sedan) and 4.6 seconds (wagon). Fitted by the AMG Performance Studio, Edition 63 extras include an AMG rear differential that delivers an extra 40 per cent of locking effect under load, DTM-style 19-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels with 235/35 R19 front and 255/30 R19 rear tyres. Inside, the Edition 63 gains extended black leather dashboard highlights with contrasting colour-coded stitching, double-stitched centre and door armrests, blue illuminated door sills, ‘Edition 63’ AMG floor mats and gearshifter, and the choice of two unique soft leather upholstery colours: Designo Sand or Designo Classic Red. While dark-tinted privacy glass will be fitted to the Estate version, both Edition C63s will be available in the choice of three exclusive metallic paint colours, including ‘designo Platinum Black’ and ‘designo Mystic White’. Then there is the even rarer unique matt-grey finish, which has been available via the AMG Performance Studio in Europe for a number of years. As with the matt paintjobs previously seen on a select few vehicles in Australia, such as Lamborghinis, the C63 limited-edition’s glossless grey finish cannot be polished.
