Renault rolled out its third-generation Megane small car in October 2016, which, for the first time in its history, featured dual-clutch transmissions and rear-wheel steering on the top-spec GT variant.
The five-door hatchback was the first to arrive before later being followed by the sedan and wagon body styles.
A 1.2-litre four-cylinder petrol (97kW/205Nm) powered the Life, Zen and GT Line grades, while a 1.6-litre turbocharged four-potter provided 151kW/280Nm of thrust in the GT.
There was plenty of standard kit, however, local examples missed out on a series of enhanced safety technologies that were offered overseas, such as adaptive cruise control and autonomous emergency braking.
