The big news lay underneath, with an all-new drivetrain featuring the Melbourne-made Alloytech HFV6 3.6-litre DOHC 24V V6 pumping out 190kW/340Nm.

A new Tiptronic-style five-speed automatic is also part of this package.

The rest of the facelift is slight, and includes a larger Holden symbol in the bigger grille, a new bonnet, body-coloured lower facia, rockers, décor panel and bumpers, silver chrome bezels, taller taillights with semi-opaque lens and banded reverse and turn indicators.

Twin horizontal row of halogen parking lamps, a deeper chrome bonnet header, projector headlights with black bezel treatment, jewelled-effect fog-lights with chrome surround, a lidded bin and ‘Piano Black’ decorative finish on the instrument panel and console surrounds are all part of the Calais package.

New standard features: 190kW/340Nm 3.6 V6, 5-speed automatic, electronic stability control, brake assist, electronic brake-force distributionEngine options: 235kW/465Nm 5.7L GEN III V8 with 4-speed automatic.
