Honda AccordMk4 Accord1 Nov 1989 By now the Accord was an American best seller, and the new Mk4’s big, dumpy styling reflected that. The previous model’s low-bonnet wedge design was enlarged, refined and updated, with fixed elongated headlights and oversized tail-lights. The cabin was also roomier, better equipped (alloy wheels, central locking and sunroof were standard) and nicely redesigned, while the ride and handling properties were improved. To accommodate all the extra weight, a new 103kW 2.2L single-cam 16-valve four-cylinder engine was employed. The “base” EXi was joined by the lavishly specified EXi 4WS, featuring mechanical four-wheel steering, anti-lock brakes, cruise control and leather trim. |
