Super TestCar reviews - Alfa Romeo - 156 - Twin Spark sedanAlfa Romeo modelsClimate Control2 Feb 2001 By BRUCE NEWTON AN automatic climate control air-conditioning system is standard on the 156. Alfa claims the system was specially finetuned to create a "climate" rather than a "fan" effect. The unit features a two-stage air filtering system designed to remove pollutants and pollens. A four-speed centrifugal fan produces an airflow unaffected by the speed of the car. Air-conditioner coolant is retrieved for re-utilisation in "cascade" fashion. Bi-level airflow directs warm air towards the floor and cooler air from the facia vents.
