It produces 157kW at 4900rpm and 357Nm at 3000rpm, slightly ahead of the Commodore V6's 152kW and significantly more than its 305Nm of torque. The alloy-headed 12-valve, single overhead camshaft, six-cylinder engine uses sequential multi-point electronic fuel injection controlled by Ford's EEC-V engine management system. A fail-safe cooling system enables the Falcon to be driven home even after a loss of coolant. The Futura is available with dedicated LPG or dual-fuel versions of the engine.
