Super TestCar reviews - Honda - HR-V - 5-dr wagonHonda modelsSafety13 Feb 2001 By BRUCE NEWTON HONDA claims the HR-V's body structure exceeds safety regulations worldwide. A space between the engine and the bonnet acts to cushion the force of impact with pedestrians, while wipers and pivots detach upon impact, eliminating another cause of potential injury to pedestrians. Impact-absorbing structures are incorporated in the roof lining over each seating position and behind the front and centre pillar garnishes to minimise head injuries. Each front door lining is padded at hip level to absorb side impact. The seat rails have no exposed edges and their mounting brackets have plastic covers. Front seatbelt pretensioners with a three-point load limiter are standard.
