Bars started popping up with funky old couches and lamps and people started spending an obscene amount of money on second-hand furniture. Volkswagen had successfully launched the New Beetle two years earlier and BMW, smelling profits, resurrected the Mini badge for a new generation. Since then, Mini has launched a second-generation hatch as well as the stretched Clubman, the Countryman crossover and the Coupe and Roadster twins. The Paceman is the seventh model in Mini's arsenal and arrives with no obvious competitors as Mini claims a new sub-segment of 'Sports Activity Coupe'.
