Super TestCar reviews - Renault - Scenic - 2.0 DynamiqueRenault modelsSafety9 Aug 2001 ONE of the most important aspects of the Scenic is that it has performed better in independent frontal offset and side-impact NCAP crash tests than its rivals. Moreover, there is no shortage of both passive and active safety features, with all models across the range featuring a driver and front passenger airbag, front seat-mounted side airbags, side curtain airbags that protect front and rear outboard passengers, four-wheel disc brakes with ABS and EBD, plus lap-sash seatbelts and "close-contact" head restraints for all occupants. Seatbelt pretensioners with load limiters are also provided for outboard occupants, with the front sashes adjustable for height. The rear seats are fitted with comma-shaped headrests which hunker down on the seatbacks to improve rear visibility when not in use.
