Super TestCar reviews - Subaru - Levorg - rangeSubaru modelsOverviewTaking WRX and injecting the space of a past Liberty GT creates new Subaru Levorg24 Jun 2016 SUBARU insists its newly released Levorg is not merely a WRX wagon, despite sharing its engine, chassis and front body structure with the iconic turbocharged all-wheel-drive sedan. Rather it sees the Levorg as the spiritual successor to the fourth-generation Liberty GT that was compact and aimed at European markets before the fifth- and sixth-gen models feasted on a McDonald’s diet and (successfully) targeted North American buyers. Indeed the Levorg is a little larger and roomier than the fourth-gen Liberty. Subaru expects the flagship GT-S Spec B to be the popular pick, and probably not coincidentally at $50K-plus it aligns with where the Liberty GT Spec B left off in 2009. So, on which side of the ledger does the Subaru Levorg fall? Is it a bargain performance wagon that is a little bit rough around the edges, or has it taken the WRX to finishing school?
