Road TestCar reviews - Toyota - LandCruiser 70 - 78 Series cab chassis utilityToyota modelsBrakes4 Apr 2002 TOYOTA has fitted disc brakes front and rear to all 78 Series vehicles and in doing so improved the stoppping power of these large vehicles considerably. With 322 x 22mm ventilated discs and twin-piston calipers on the front and 295mm discs with single-piston calipers on the rear, the driver now has greater feeling through the pedal and can apply the braking force more progressively - increasing driver confidence the vehicle will stop in time and in line. Toyota does not offer an anti-lock braking system (ABS) as an option on 78 Series models, which is dissapointing, as a vehicle of this size and load carrying capacity could benefit from such technology.
