Dual airbags are standard on the GXL and GXV models and optional elsewhere. Anti-lock brakes are unavailable on the Standard model, optional on RV and come fitted on GXL and GXV. The front seatbelt buckles are mounted on the seats and the upper anchorages are adjustable to improve the fit of the seatbelt. The front seatbelts have pretensioners. Only the centre seat of the third row misses out on a lap/sash seatbelt. All eight-seat LandCruisers meet the ADR69 frontal barrier crash test for passenger vehicles.
