Road TestCar reviews - Toyota - RAV4 - Edge 5-dr wagonToyota modelsSeat Plan25 Jan 2001 THE new RAV4's interior room has increased in both body styles, with the five-door up 55mm in width, 35mm in height and 90mm in length. There are lap-sash seatbelts for all five occupants of the five-door and the centre rear sash section can retract into the roof when not used. Child restraint anchorage points are on the rear seatbacks, eliminating interference between tether straps and luggage. Cubbies include the overhead sunglasses console, a small front storage compartment suitable for coins and other odds and ends, front seatback pockets (standard on all RAV4 models) and the rear door pockets, which have a partition to accommodate small or large items. The front map lights are incorporated into the overhead sunglasses console. Two bottle holders are positioned in the front and rear. Increased sound resistance was achieved by adding a 15mm thick felt underlay to the RAV4's floor and deck carpets.
