Future models - Renault - TwingoFirst look: Renault's new TwingoMicro: The Twingo nameplete is positioned beneath Clio in Europe. New renault Twingo gets its debut at Geneva and could be headed Down Under16 Mar 2007 By TERRY MARTIN RENAULT unveiled its new-generation Twingo light car at the Geneva motor show last week, which is a significant new model for the French manufacturer in Europe and, for the first time, right-hand drive international markets. Renault Australia has told GoAuto that despite the new Twingo’s role of "conquering new markets" the Slovenian-built sub-Clio contender is not (unlike the Campus) under consideration for Australia – for now. Among the powertrain range is a 75kW 1.2-litre turbocharged engine, in a "GT" version. Four independent sliding seats allow for a modular interior in the compact (3600mm-long) Twingo, with boot volume ranging from 165 litres to 285 litres with all four seats in place – and extendable to 959 litres with a two-seater layout. Also unveiled at Geneva was the Clio "Grand Tour" concept, which points to a forthcoming small station wagon, and the 4x2 Scenic "Conquest" – a replacement, of sorts, for the discontinued RX4 SUV.
