New models - Mercedes-Benz - GLC - 4MaticGLC 200 4Matic rejoins ‘Benz line-upReintroduced Mercedes-Benz GLC 200 4Matic SUV now available from $89,900 +ORC12 Mar 2025 By MATT BROGAN MERCEDES-BENZ has re-introduced a GLC 200 4Matic variant to its mid-sized SUV range from this week, the variant arriving as an alternative to the popular GLC 300 4Matic already on sale.
Priced from $89,000 plus on-road costs, the GLC 200 4Matic undercuts its dearer sibling by a significant $6700 to offer what the German importer says is a “stylish and accessible” SUV equipped as standard with its Avantgarde styling line.
Powered by a mild-hybrid 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, the GLC 200 4Matic produces 150kW of power and 320Nm of torque, driving all four wheels via a nine-speed automatic transmission. Fuel economy is listed at 7.5 litres per 100km (NEDC) and acceleration from 0-100km/h at 7.8 seconds.
Equipment inclusions for the 2025 Mercedes-Benz GLC 200 4Matic extend to 19-inch 10-twin-spoke alloy wheels in tremolite grey, aluminium-look running boards with rubber studs, LED headlights with adaptive high beam assist, a panoramic sliding sunroof, aluminium roof racks, 360-degree camera system, active parking assist, auto dimming rear-view mirror, and LED ambient cabin lighting package to name just a few.
The interior is finished with a silver-grey diamond-pattern trim on the dashboard and high-gloss black on the centre console complementing Artico (faux-leather) upholstery in Black, Sienna Brown over Black, or Macchiato Beige over Black shades, and four-way lumber support for the front seats.
A multi-function sports steering wheel joins Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, wireless device charging, and dual-zone climate control as just some of the features on offer.
Safety system highlights include nine airbags, adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, blind spot assist, traffic sign assist, and tyre pressure monitoring (a temporary spare wheel is included beneath a 620-litre cargo compartment).
Optionally, the GLC 200 4Matic may be fitted with metallic paint (+$1100 in Obsidian Black, High-tech Silver, Spectral Blue, Graphite Grey, or Verde Silver hues), Manufaktur paint (+$2700 in Opalite White bright, Alpine Grey solid, or Patagonia Red bright), or Neva Grey over Black upholstery (as part of the Sport Package).
The Sport Package ($6000) includes AMG Line exterior and interior styling elements, 20-inch AMG alloy wheels in black, a “sporty engine sound”, colour-coded wheel arch mouldings, and anthracite line-structure lime wood trim on dash.
Taken in conjunction with the Sport Package, the Night Package ($1300) adds “expressive exterior design elements” in black including 20-inch AMG alloys painted black with rim flange in high sheen finish.
Finally, the GLC 200 4Matic is available with Mercedes-Benz’s Plus Package (+$7600) which includes Digital Light headlights, heat and noise insulating glass, MBUX augmented reality navigation, Guard 360-degree vehicle protection, driving assistance package plus, and Burmester 3D surround sound.
Competing within the Medium SUV over $60K segment, the Mercedes-Benz GLC has sold 554 wagon and 232 coupe-SUV examples to the end of February 2025. The figures place the model in step with rivals including the Audi Q5 (607 unit sales YTD), BMW X3 (428), Lexus NX (847), and Porsche Macan (541).
