Mitsubishi LancerCA Lancer1 Sep 1988 After almost a decade of the (mostly locally made) RA-RE series Colt, Mitsubishi reverted to importing its small cars from Japan. The Lancer name was initially reborn as a 56kW 1.5L four-door sedan in GLX and well-equipped SE guises, available in five-speed manual or three-speed auto formats. There was a four-speed auto choice with EFI fuel injection (which raised the 1.5L’s power output to 61kW) during early ‘89, while in September 1989 a base GL sedan, GL, GLX and SE five-door hatchbacks, and a sporty SX three-door hatchback joined the burgeoning Lancer range. |
