Super TestCar reviews - Audi - TT - Coupe quattroAudi modelsResearch Audi Suspension5 Feb 2001 By BRUCE NEWTON ALTHOUGH the quattro uses MacPherson strut suspension at the front - like the two-wheel drive TT - the rear suspension is an independent system with trailing and transverse arms. To save space, springs and shock absorbers are separately mounted. A rollbar pivots on the wheel hub backplate by means of a connecting linkage. The front suspension has forged lower control arms, new guide joints and larger journals, and the stabiliser bar pivots directly on the spring struts. The system is derived from the Audi A3 and is similar to the all-independent arrangement used on the S3 version. Did you know? The double wishbone, trailing arm independent rear suspension uses separate springs and angled shock absorbers to minimise space intrusion into the boot areaAll car reviewsAlfa Romeo Abarth Alpine Alpina Audi Aston Martin BMW Bentley Chevrolet Chery Citroen Chrysler Dodge Cupra Ferrari DS Ford Fiat FPV Foton GWM Great Wall Holden Haval HSV Honda Hyundai Hummer Isuzu Infiniti Jeep Jaguar Lamborghini Kia LDV Land Rover Lotus Lexus Maserati Mahindra McLaren Mazda Mercedes-Benz Mercedes-AMG Mini MG Nissan Mitsubishi Peugeot Opel Proton Porsche Renault Ram Rover Rolls-Royce Skoda Saab SsangYong Smart Suzuki Subaru Toyota Tesla Volvo Volkswagen |
