Super TestCar reviews - Ford - Laser - SR 5-dr hatchFord modelsResearch Ford Controls24 Aug 2001 By BRUCE NEWTON WITHOUT the power pack, the SR Laser relies on manual adjustment for the windows and external mirrors (paddles are placed at each pillar). Central locking is standard, though no remote function is provided. Headlamp and wiper (including variable intermittent) controls are on steering column stalks, and the column itself is tilt-adjustable, while instrument lighting can be altered from a switch on the right-hand side of the dash. Driver comfort is assisted somewhat by seat cushion adjustment. The hatch has its own doorhandle and the fuel flap is opened via a lever located in the driver's footwell. A driver's footrest is there, too. Cruise control is not provided.
