Super TestCar reviews - Ford - Laser - SR2 5-dr hatchFord modelsResearch Ford Brakes20 Jul 2001 By BRUCE NEWTON DISC brakes are used front and rear, the ventilated front discs measuring 258mm in diameter and the solid rear discs 281mm. These are the same brakes used on all 1.8-litre Lasers, with 1.6-litre models making do with 235mm front discs and 200mm rear drums. An anti-lock braking system, now with electronic brake-force distribution (EBD), is also standard on SR2. The new EBD system is designed to differentiate between light and heavy loads and then allocate the ideal hydraulic braking pressure to counter rear wheel slip if it occurs. Did you know? All Laser models use rigid front callipers and high-friction-coefficient brake pads to provide greater resistance to fade under high speed or high load conditionsAll car reviewsAlfa Romeo Abarth Alpine Alpina Audi Aston Martin BMW Bentley Chevrolet Chery Citroen Chrysler Dodge Cupra Ferrari DS Ford Fiat FPV Foton GWM Great Wall Holden Haval HSV Honda Hyundai Hummer Isuzu Infiniti Jeep Jaguar Lamborghini Kia LDV Land Rover Lotus Lexus Maserati Mahindra McLaren Mazda Mercedes-Benz Mercedes-AMG Mini MG Nissan Mitsubishi Peugeot Opel Proton Porsche Renault Ram Rover Rolls-Royce Skoda Saab SsangYong Smart Suzuki Subaru Toyota Tesla Volvo Volkswagen |
