Super TestCar reviews - Peugeot - 206 - XT 5-dr hatchPeugeot modelsLuggage6 Feb 2001 By P TIBBLES THE 206 luggage compartment is generous in size. The rear shock absorbers are positioned virtually flat and hence do not intrude on cargo space. A 60/40 split-fold rear seat is standard. The rear bench can withstand the force of two 18kg suitcases located on the cargo floor, 20cm away from the seatback (equivalent to deceleration of 20g for 33 milliseconds). With the rear seat cushion raised or removed and the rear seatback folded, items of up to 1250m long can be carried with the rear seat upright, the cargo length is 700mm. Cargo volume measures 245 litres with the rear bench upright and 1130 with the seat folded. The cargo area is fully carpeted and has six luggage tie-down hooks to secure the load. The XT has a cargo net to secure shopping bags or loose items.
