Super TestCar reviews - Saab - 9-3 - S 5-dr hatchSaab modelsSafety9 May 2001 By BRUCE NEWTON NATURALLY, safety is a high priority, this being a Saab. The front airbags are inflated by a "soft" charge, making them less aggressive to occupants seated well forward. Two-stage head-thorax side airbags protect the occupants' rib cage and head in side impacts. The body structure is designed to distribute the impact forces over as large an area as possible in an accident. The 9-3 incorporates Saab's "active" head restraints that protect against whiplash injuries. For 2001, the 9-3 S adds Isofix child seat mountings. Did you know?A Euro NCAP crash test in 1999 awarded the Saab 9-3 four stars out of five for front and side impact crash protection for occupants. However, it received only one star out of four in the pedestrian impact testAll car reviewsAlfa Romeo Abarth Alpine Alpina Audi Aston Martin BMW Bentley Chevrolet Chery Citroen Chrysler Dodge Cupra Ferrari DS Ford Fiat FPV Foton GWM Great Wall Holden Haval HSV Honda Hyundai Hummer Isuzu Infiniti Jeep Jaguar Lamborghini Kia LDV Land Rover Lotus Lexus Maserati Mahindra McLaren Mazda Mercedes-Benz Mercedes-AMG Mini MG Nissan Mitsubishi Peugeot Opel Proton Porsche Renault Ram Rover Rolls-Royce Skoda Saab SsangYong Smart Suzuki Subaru Toyota Tesla Volvo Volkswagen |
