Super TestCar reviews - Toyota - Camry - Altise V6 sedanToyota modelsWhat's Changed24 Oct 2002 By BRUCE NEWTON THE 380N Camry has areas of complete change and others where absolutely nothing has happened. The look of the car inside and out is obviously new and there is also more of it compared to the old car, but the platform it attaches to is updated rather than a complete change (see "Standout Features"). The V6 engine and manual and automatic gearbox choices remain as before for Altise, but there's also a four-cylinder engine and accompanying transmissions which are new to Camry (although seen here already in the Tarago people mover). The suspension design remains fundamentally the same although local tuning levels are higher than ever. But the brakes, steering rack (pictured), seats and headlights are new. Toyota calls this Camry all-new, but it's more like a fair-bit new. Did you know?Toyota claims this is the highest local content Camry since it began building the car here in 1987, being rated at 77 per cent by Federal Government methodologyAll car reviewsAlfa Romeo Abarth Alpine Alpina Audi Aston Martin BMW Bentley Chevrolet Chery Citroen Chrysler Dodge Cupra Ferrari DS Ford Fiat FPV Foton GWM Great Wall Holden Haval HSV Honda Hyundai Hummer Isuzu Infiniti Jeep Jaguar Lamborghini Kia LDV Land Rover Lotus Lexus Maserati Mahindra McLaren Mazda Mercedes-Benz Mercedes-AMG Mini MG Nissan Mitsubishi Peugeot Opel Proton Porsche Renault Ram Rover Rolls-Royce Skoda Saab SsangYong Smart Suzuki Subaru Toyota Tesla Volvo Volkswagen |
