GERMAN luxury car-builder Audi has revealed its updated A6 and A7 large-sized sedans, which both feature slight exterior design tweaks and minor interior revisions, along with a new option package for its A6 Allroad wagon.

The A6 gains a redesigned front end with more prominent air intakes and gloss black “lateral ventilation grilles”, while the side sills and rear bumpers are also remoulded for a more angular shape. A new rear diffuser completes the exterior updates.

With the optional S Line pack, the A6 gains a new radiator grille with matte black badging and chrome accents on the cross slats, side air inlets and, on models with adaptive cruise control, chrome rings.

The Ingolstadt-based car-maker has also added LED lighting throughout the cabin and boot space of its new A6 and A7 models, and has made new interior inlay options available including Aluminum Ellipse silver and fine grain birch natural 'agate gray' for its sedans and Aluminum Ellipse bronze for the A6 Allroad.

Options on all A6 and A7 models, including the S range, now include a smartphone interface for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless inductive charging for compatible smartphones and two tablets for rear occupants.

New colour options are also available for the A6 and A7, Matador red, Gotland green and Java brown – a colour carried over from the A6 Allroad.

Audi’s A6 Allroad on the other hand, receives a new Advanced option pack which includes a new brown exterior paint finish with grey highlights, 20-inch wheels, a sports differential, leather sports seats and velour floor mats.

While Australian timing and pricing is yet to be confirmed, Audi global is saying deliveries will take place mid-year with “no increase to starting prices”.

Australia’s current A6 range kicks-off with the 1.8-litre TFSI sedan at $79,900 before on-road costs and tops out with the 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8-powered S6 for $169,900.

The A6 Allroad range was streamlined to one variant last year, with Audi only offering the 3.0-litre TDI quattro for $111,900 and, while the A7 Sportback starts at $115,400 for the 3.0-litre TDI quattro and tops out with the 4.0-litre V8 S7 for $179,510.
