Future models - Suzuki - S-CrossParis show: Suzuki teases S-Cross againAnother murky image of the forthcoming Suzuki S-Cross compact crossovers18 Sep 2012 SUZUKI has released a further image – this time from the rear – of the forthcoming S-Cross crossover concept ahead of its debut at the Paris motor show on September 27. The heavily shadowed rear image shows an angular and upright design, with triangular tail-lights and LEDs and a high loading lip. The company describes its new C-segment SUV as a model that embodies “emotion, quality and aerodynamics ... with distinctive dynamic lines that start on the front bumper, sweep across the doors, and continue to the rear”. Somewhat paradoxically, the car-maker also suggests that “design elements which suggest stability and solidity also help create a cutting-edge crossover look”. As we have reported, it is not yet clear whether the five-door hatch is a replacement for the current SX4 tall-boy crossover that has been on sale in Australia since 2007, or a larger standalone model. Last month Suzuki released a sketch and a frontal teaser image of the concept, showing a curvaceous nose design with bulbous wheel arches, large rectangular grille, pronounced bumper vents and eye-catching LED daytime running strips. The images suggest a more sporty and low-slung design than the Japanese company’s current fleet of SUVs and crossovers, perhaps in response to the success of edgy C-segment vehicles like the Nissan Juke. Suzuki says further information will come to light following the public reveal on September 27.
