The short wheelbase (2715mm versus 2865mm) 500kg-payload Superute was also added to the B1800 range at this time, and featured a woodgrain dashboard.
Both were powered by a 59kW/132Nm 1.8-litre carburettor-fed four-cylinder petrol engine mated to a four-speed manual gearbox.
From July 1980 the Superute gained a 750kg-payload and a five-speed manual gearbox. Front disc brakes were also added around then.
April 1981 saw the introduction of the 46kW/122Nm 2.2-litre four-cylinder diesel B2200 utility with a 1000kg payload.
A cleaner and more modern nose was implemented in February ’82.
In November ’82 a slightly larger, 58kW/138Nm 1.8-litre petrol engine replaced the 59kW unit, and was fitted with a five-speed manual gearbox.
