With increased specification and unique BMW Individual exterior and interior styling elements, the Black Vermillion Edition combines strong black and red tones throughout the exterior and interior.
Externally, the Black Vermillion Edition includes BMW Individual Frozen Black metallic paint, an illuminated kidney grille with high gloss black shadowline and high gloss red grille slats, black headlight bezels and Orbit Grey 22-inch double-spoke alloy wheels behind which are high gloss red brake callipers.
Inside the cabin is black Merino full leather upholstery with contrasting red stitching for the front row, panoramic glass roof, rear privacy glass, an Alcantara headliner in Anthracite, ventilated comfort seats, CraftedClarity glass rotary controllers, velour floor mats in Anthracite with red binding, BMW Individual interior surfaces in Fineline Black with aluminium inlays, and an Edition Black Vermillion badge on the centre console.
Sharing its X6 M50i donor variant’s 390kW/750Nm turbo-petrol V8, the Black Vermillion Edition is capable of accelerating from standstill to 100km/h in an identical 4.3 seconds.
The M-enhanced X6 is one of several special edition variants the Munich-based luxury manufacturer has released over the past six months.
In January the brand announced that it would release its X2 Edition GoldPlay in both sDrive20i and M35i guise, adding unique paint finishes and Galvanic Gold garnishes alongside M-specific interior features including an M leather steering wheel with multifunction buttons, anthracite-coloured headliner, M stainless steel pedals, M sport seats in Dakota leather with contrasting Giallo Oro stitching, and car key with distinctive M identifier.
The X2 Edition GoldPlay was followed in February by Sport Line enhanced 1, 2 and 3 Series variants, the trio combining feature bundles the brand said were a way for “customer to benefit from the outstanding performance and efficiency of each model at a revised price point”.
The Sport Line package was offered on 118i, 218i Gran Coupe, and 320i and 330e derivatives and including such extras as BMW’s Sport Line trim package with Live Cockpit Professional, Connected Package Professional and Intelligent Personal Assistant aids, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, Driving and Parking Assistant technology, sports seats, 17-inch alloy wheels and black paint finish.
In March, BMW released Frozen Edition variants of its X3 and X4 models – featuring striking BMW Individual Frozen Deep Grey matte-finished metallic paint finishes and a range of unique specification elements – of which just 37 examples were offered, followed by Sport Line enhanced X1 and X2 variants in May.
Later the same month, BMW revealed its M4 Edition Jahre to celebrated BMW M Division’s 50th anniversary. Just 25 examples of the performance model were allocated to Australian customers, each offered exclusively in Brands Hatch Grey metallic paintwork and riding on offset 19- and 20-inch 826 M light alloy wheels finished in matte Gold Bronze.
