The electronically controlled four-speed automatic has three modes: Economy, Sport and Winter. Economy is the default mode, but is overridden when the Sport button on the shift lever or the Winter button on the centre console is selected. First, second and third gears can be selected individually along the transmission gate. As a fuel-saving measure, the automatic will select neutral at idle when the brake pedal is applied and the car is stationary. It then shifts back into gear when the throttle is applied.
