The system aims to take effort out of turning the wheel when parking, while retaining good feel at higher speeds when little power assistance is required. A computer continuously evaluates information on driver-applied steering input, current road speed and engine speed to calculate the level of assistance required. Like its stablemates, the SRi has a turning circle of 9.9m and requires 2.9 turns from lock to lock.
