Super TestCar reviews - Holden - Cruze - 5-dr wagonHolden modelsResearch Holden What's Changed26 Sep 2002 By BRUCE NEWTON AS there's no Cruze predecessor to compare this to, you could argue nothing has changed, but then it is such a close relation to the Suzuki Ignis mini-car, that becomes a relevant comparison. Basically, Holden took the all-wheel drive version of the Ignis, replaced the 1.3-litre engine with a more powerful 1.5, recalibrated and raised the suspension for increased ground clearance, widened the front and rear track for better stability and, perhaps most importantly, restyled the car outside and - to a lesser extent - inside in an attempt to give chunky off-roader looks to what is patently a town car. After all that work, there's still more that bonds the Ignis and Cruze together than separates them.
