The gearboxes remain unchanged from Commodore SS specification, with both CV6 and CV8 employing a GM four-speed auto with 3.08:1 final drive. CV8's six-speed manual has a shorter final drive ratio of 3.46:1, while fourth gear is 1:1 and both fifth and sixth are overdriven primarily for fuel economy's sake.
