Super TestCar reviews - Holden - Monaro - CV8 coupeHolden modelsResearch Holden Stand Out Features9 Jul 2002 APART from Monaro CV8's muscular 5.7-litre engine, stand-out features include instrument dial faces colour-coded to the exterior paint and the electric fold/slide function of the front seats. The centre high-mounted stop light is a fast response LED design, which alerts other drivers to braking input faster - by 0.2 of a second - than a conventional light. At 100km/h, this equates to 4.7 metres of extra stopping distance. Monaro's uniquely styled quartz halogen headlamps feature projector-style low beam lights that throw a wide and even beam pattern, improving safety performance by reducing glare to oncoming vehicles. Other Monaro features new to Holden, and so likely to appear on future Commodore models, include the revised steering and suspension systems, the projector-style headlights, multi-focal fog lights and metallic paint colours.
