A system dating back to the Mini Minor, Hydragas uses liquid-filled "gas chambers" mounted vertically in the subframe. Damping is achieved by the liquid passing through a two-way damper valve arrangement that restricts the flow into the chambers. When a front wheel hits a bump the unit compresses to absorb the shock. Former F1 driver Mark Blundell helped Rover tune the suspension.
