Super TestCar reviews - Mitsubishi - Pajero - GLS 5-dr wagonMitsubishi modelsEngine14 Feb 2001 By BRUCE NEWTON WITH the introduction of the NL series Pajero in 1997, Mitsubishi replaced the previous "quad" camshaft V6 with a new single camshaft per bank 3.5-litre V6. This engine is carried over into the NM. More tuned to the needs of a large 4WD, the new engine produces stronger torque in the important mid-range, if a little less power at the top end. Benefits other than the torque include improved fuel economy (by a claimed maximum of up 10 per cent). Although it's only a single-camshaft design, the engine still breathes efficiently through four valves per cylinder. Did you know? The optional 2.8-litre turbo diesel is carried over from the previous model. It produces a strong 292Nm of torque at just 2000rpm and a maximum output of 92kW at 4000rpmAll car reviewsAlfa Romeo Abarth Alpine Alpina Audi Aston Martin BMW Bentley Chevrolet Chery Citroen Chrysler Dodge Cupra Ferrari DS Ford Fiat FPV Foton GWM Great Wall Holden Haval HSV Honda Hyundai Hummer Isuzu Infiniti Jeep Jaguar Lamborghini Kia LDV Land Rover Lotus Lexus Maserati Mahindra McLaren Mazda Mercedes-Benz Mercedes-AMG Mini MG Nissan Mitsubishi Peugeot Opel Proton Porsche Renault Ram Rover Rolls-Royce Skoda Saab SsangYong Smart Suzuki Subaru Toyota Tesla Volvo Volkswagen |
