It is measured in Newton-metres (Nm) and is an extremely important figure when considering a car's response in normal driving and under higher loads, such as when towing. The higher the torque figure and the lower the revs at which it peaks, the better the vehicle will accelerate from cruising speeds in higher gears (when overtaking, for example) or when pushing off from low speeds. |
