Super TestCar reviews - Ford - Falcon - XR6 Turbo sedanFord modelsBrakes19 Dec 2002 BA Falcon has a new Australian-designed braking system that Ford claims offers improvements in braking effectiveness (shorter stopping distances), plus increased pad life, better fade resistance, reduced brake temperatures and lower pedal effort. Disc size has been increased, with the front ventilated rotors now measuring 298mm x 28mm (up from 287mm x 28mm), while the solid rear rotors are 303mm in diameter and 16mm thick (previously 287mm x 16mm). All BA Falcons use a twin-piston aluminium calliper at the front and a single-piston aluminium calliper at the rear. EBD (Electronic Brake force Distribution) is now fitted to all BA sedans, wagons and utes equipped with ABS.
