Isuzu Ute has introduced a new entry-grade SX 4x2 single-cab chassis derivative – powered by the Japanese firm’s all-new 1.9-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine – to its D-Max range.

Isuzu Ute is taking its dependable and rugged D-Max ute further upmarket for its third generation with a bold new look, a heap more standard kit and enhanced technology, but the dependable 3.0-litre turbo-diesel engine remains.

While Isuzu will give the MU-X large SUV its annual model-year update, it is not yet known what improvements will be made to it. Extra equipment is a certainty, but mechanics are likely to be untouched until its next generation.

As has become a yearly tradition, Isuzu will again tweak its D-Max ute, although the exact changes in store for it are yet to be detailed. Given a new-generation model is on the horizon, upgrades are likely to be minor.

Isuzu introduced significant upgrades to its D-Max pick-up and MU-X seven-seat SUV early last year, but the company is set to lob model year updates this month with further improvements to the Thai-built siblings.
