Chrysler updated 300 range brings with it a mild mid-life facelift before an all-new model arrives in coming years. Australia is expected to be the only market to receive the more powerful V8-powered SRT8 variant.

Released: Jul 2012

The successor to the previously-popular Chrysler 300C is, at least cosmetically, more evolution than revolution. Chrysler designers attempted to achieve a more “tailored appearance” via more attention to detail across in terms of body sculpting and practical elements such as aerodynamics and driver visibility. A hi-po SRT8 variant will pack a 6.4-litre Hemi V8 producing 347kW and 630Nm.

Model: Voyager

Released: Oct 2011

The 2011 Voyager gets new front-end styling and an upgraded cabin. A new 210kW/350Nm 3.6-litre Pentastar V6 replaces the current 3.8-litre V6 and will be matched exclusively with a six-speed automatic transmission. The current 2.8-litre turbo-diesel option should continue alongside.

Chrysler has confirmed the Sebring mid-size sedan will be launched Down Under in mid-2007, as a rival for up market mid-size sedans like Honda's Accord. Three engines (a 124kW/220Nm 2.4-litre four, a 140kW/259Nm 2.7-litre V6 and a 103kW/310Nm 2.0-litre turbo-diesel) will be offered.

Chrysler Australia will bolster the 300C Touring range in 2007 with the addition of a 317kW SRT8 version. With a 6.1-litre HEMI V8 engine, performance-tuned suspension, Brembo brakes and 20-inch alloy SRT wheels, the SRT-8 Touring has the performance to match its mumbo.

Chrysler will release its Commodore/Falcon-size 300C sedan in Australia in right-hand drive guise direct from Chrysler’s US factory by late 2005. Based on a platform that also underpins the E-class, the 300C will spawn a Touring version but will carry a premium price over its Ford and Holden rivals.

Model: Crossfire - Roadster

Released: Oct 2004

Like its coupe sibling that went on sale in January 2004, Chrysler's Crossfire Roadster - unveilled at the 2004 Detroit show - is based on the original SLK, but is even truer to its donor car's convertible origins. The Roadster adds 90kg and should be priced under $80,000 when it arrives here in late 2004.

Due on sale here in January 2004, the Chrysler Crossfire coupe will be priced at $69,990. Only 150 examples of the Mercedes Benz-based two-seat, rear-wheel drive coupe will be initially made available - complete with 160kW 3.2-litre V6 and either a six-speed manual or five-speed AutoStick automatic.
