After setting the Nurburgring lap record for a production SUV, Alfa Romeo will honour its Stelvio Quadrifoglio with the limited-run NRING edition, with three examples coming to Australia. A number of performance enhancements are included, but the model’s 2.9-litre twin-turbo V6 carries over unchanged.

Model: Giulia - Quadrifoglio NRING

Released: Aug 2019

Alfa Romeo is set to commemorate its Nurburgring-conquering Giulia Quadrifoglio in August, with the release of the limited-run Giulia NRING. The NRING scores a number of performance goodies such as carbon ceramic brakes, carbon-fibre trim, special wheels and a matte grey colour.

Released: Mar 2019

The most potent version of Alfa Romeo’s new Stelvio SUV is set to arrive in the first quarter, following the rest of the range’s release in March 2018. Under the bonnet, the Quadrifoglio packs the same 375kW/600Nm 2.9-litre V6 as the top-spec Giulia Q.

A well-overdue replacement for Alfa's 159 sedan will come in the shape of its Giulia in 2016. The Giulia will contend with other premium Euro performance sedans such as the BMW M3 and Audi RS4, thanks in part to its Ferrari-derived twin-turbo V6.

Released: Nov 2015

Alfa Romeo's drop-top 4C sportscar will arrive on the local market in late 2015, just in time for summer. The Italian car-maker has replaced the fixed roof with a removable panel, adding just 10kg to the roadster, ensuring most of the enthralling performance remains intact.

Alfa's 4C sportscar is confirmed for Australia and will be powered by the same 173kW 1.75-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine as the top-shelf Giulietta QV, but mid-mounted and driving the rear wheels via a six-speed dual-clutch automated manual transmission. A kerb weight target of less than 850kg enables a sprint to 100km/h in less than five seconds.

Released: Jul 2010

Alfa Romeo will launch a new model variant to its MiTo range by mid-2010 - the Cloverleaf model-leader, which is powered by a 125kW 1.4-litre MultiAir turbo engine, via a new six-speed manual transmission. A self-shifting DDCT gearbox, Alfa’s first double-clutch transmission, is also expected to be added to the MiTo range.

Alfa Romeo is working on a sub-147 small car aimed at the BMW-built Mini Cooper S. known as MiTo, it is based on Fiat’s Punto platform. Five examples of the Alfa Romeo 8C coupe, unveiled at Frankfurt in 2003 and built as a left-hand drive only, are due to arrive in Australia mid 2008. Designed by Giugiaro, the Porsche 911 rival is powered by a 330kW 4.2-litre blown V8, offering 0-100km/h acceleration in 4.5 seconds.

Alfa Romeo launches its all-new 159 Sportwagon just a month after its donor car, the 159 medium sedan, was released in Australia - priced from $3000 more. It's powered by a 136kW/230Nm 2.2-litre four, a 191kW/322Nm 3.2-litre V6 and a 147kW/400Nm 2.4-litre 20-valve five-cylinder JTD turbo-diesel.

Shown in production guise for the first time at Geneva 2005, Alfa Romeo's Brera sports coupe is due on sale in Australia mid-2006. The 2+2 coupe will become the new leading light in the Alfa range with pricing from around $60,000. The four-cylinder JTS went on sale in June, with the V6 here from August.

Making its public debut at the 2003 Frankfurt show, Alfa Romeo's stylish new GT coupe will go on sale locally in July. Based on the 156 Sportwagon platform and featuring a 176kW 3.2 V6, the Bertone-designed GT will effectively replace the 156 GTA and eventually the GTV, at $79,990.

An update of the 166 luxury car was featured at the 2003 Frankfurt motor show and will go on sale in Australia in July. The update, performed by Alfa’s styling centre, includes a new shield grille, headlights, bonnet and bumpers, plus extensive changes to interior materials, colours and trims.

Like the facelifted Spider, the 2003 GTV was first revealed at the 2002 Geneva motor show and will go on sale in Australia on November 15. Like Spider, the revised GTV coupe will gain a new JTS four-cylinder engine plus an upgraded 3.2-litre V6 and 147-style shield grille.

Released: Nov 2003

Alfa launched a new version of the 147 called the Ti - short for “Turismo Internazionale” - at the 2003 Sydney motor show. The 110kW 2.0-litre Ti adds 17-inch alloys, a GTA rear wing, sports seats and some leather trimming. It's priced at $39,990, while the Selespeed version is pitched at $42,990.

Alfa Romeo launched a facelifted version of its 156 mid-size prestige sedan and wagon at the 2003 Frankfurt motor show.
