Model: G6

Released: Feb 2025

Two G6 variants available: standard and long range. Both are rear-wheel drive with 800V architecture and 190kW/440Nm and 210kW/440Nm, respectively, and they can reach a claimed 570km range. Fast charging takes a claimed 20 minutes, and the G6 is priced to compete with the Tesla Model Y.

A refreshed design with more advanced safety features targets better ANCAP performance. Outside, there is a new grille, head and taillights, and bumpers, while inside, there is a larger 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster.

The all-new small SUV from MG surprisingly arrives after the hybrid model. The top of the ICE line-up has 18-inch alloy wheels and a 125kW/275Nm 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder, while lower-spec versions get a naturally aspirated 81kW/140Nm 1.5-litre.

Model: BT-50

Released: Feb 2025

A resculpted one-tonner from Mazda increases in price, gains more tech, and has a damped tailgate, LED tail lights, and a revised interior. Mechanically, it remains the same, with a choice of Isuzu-sourced 1.9-litre and 3.0-litre turbo diesel engines and a six-speed auto.

Model: Folgore - GT110

Released: Feb 2025

Extremely limited availability, with only 110 examples made. Uses tech from Formula E – 800V battery, three potent 300kW permanent magnet motors – one in the front, two in the rear – to deliver up to 610kW/1350Nm  and 2.7 secs for 0-100km/h

Model: Scorpio

Released: Feb 2025

Medium-size 4x4 SUV from India has been upgraded for a better ANCAP rating, with more primary and secondary safety equipment and ADAS tech. The previous model scored zero safety stars. It is powered by a 129kW/400Nm 2.2-litre turbo-diesel engine with a six-speed auto.

A maybe for February is Hyundai’s tiddler size Inster BEV promises a spacious interior and safety-oriented technologies, with a claimed range up to 355km range from a single charge. Will be available with 42kWh or 49kWh battery options. Single 71kW or 85kW front motors available

An electrified version of Genesis’ large G80 sedan follows recent upgrade to the petrol-powered  model to styling, luxury equipment and tech gifting it with an extended range via a 94.5kWh battery for a claimed 475km on a single charge.

Model: Sealion - 7

Released: Feb 2025

Another medium size SUV from BYD, this time a BEV to compete with Tesla’s Model Y that runs the same underpinnings as the BYD Seal sedan. Base model has a single 170kW rear motor energised by a 72kWh battery.

Model: M5 - Touring

Released: Feb 2025

Mighty M5 Touring returns this time with hybrid V8 motivation roaring out the quad tailpipes along with far more aggressive styling the 535kW/1000Nm, 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 and transmission-integrated electric motor setup from BMW’s M Hybrid V8 endurance racer.

Model: 2 Series - Gran Coupe

Refreshed 2025 BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe gets a sleek and more aggressive snout, new headlights, arcing roofline in base 218 and flagship M235 xDrive guise with 1.5-litre, three-cylinder turbo-petrol and 2.0-litre turbo four cylinder engines respectively.

Model: Vanquish

Released: Feb 2025

 

A new halo coupe model from AM the latest iteration of its legendary Vanquish series, powered by a 5.2-litre twin-turbo V12 that develops 614kW/1000Nm for a v-max of 344km/h to comfortably earn the title “fastest Aston Martin series production car to date”.

The six- or seven-seat BEV people mover should also be available for pick-up now after pre-order finalisation. Providing a high level of luxury and powered by silicon-carbide dual e-motors, the 009 produces 450kW/693Nm for a 0-100km/h sprint in 4.5 seconds.

The small fully electric SUV is likely available now in two variants: RWD and AWD the former running a single motor delivering 200kW/343Nm the latter dual-motor with 315kW/543Nm sharing the same 66kWh battery pack with range claimed at 540km and 470km respectively.

Toyota’s GR upgrade program continues with Corolla GR and Yaris GR benefitting from more torque/power and an eight-speed automatic transmission option. Interior changes arrive, more drive modes, aero enhancements, more technology and infotainment, and more ADAS tech.

Released: Jan 2025

Joining the six-speed automatic LandCruiser 70 Series four-cylinder is a five-speed manual variant with revised gearing, strengthened clutch, and gearbox, higher differential ratio, and a triple synchro’ on first gear. A range of durability upgrades also make an appearance.

Nissan has facelifted its small UK-built Qashqai SUV with refreshed looks and additional technology the model also gaining new alloys and colours. Inside is tweaked with new materials and ambient lighting partially quilted leather or Alcantara upholstery higher grade. No mechanical changes.

LDV’s D90 seven-seat large SUV packs a new Miller Cycle 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine for 2025 and towing capacity goes up rated at 3000kg with fuel economy at 9.1 litres per 100km. Efficiency is aided by a new eight-speed automatic transmission.

Released: Jan 2025

A 2.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine lifted from other models is now available on the new Hyundai Santa Fe with performance gains, 2000kg towing capacity in FWD and AWD configuration with eight-speed DCT transmission.

Incoming GWM H6 GT PHEV, the company’s first plug-in Down Under scores stronger performance from combined turbo petrol 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine and no less than three electric motors. Output is 342kW/762Nm, 4.9 second 0-100km/h, claimed 1000km range.

American luxury car brand Cadillac finally hits the market with tis Lyriq large electric SUV undercutting its German competition on price, the US-built luxury SUV also outpowering them. Luxury and Sport trim levels are available both with a dual-motor all-wheel drive powertrain.

Model: Shark - 6

Released: Jan 2025

BYD’s first Shark 6 dual-cab one-tonne 4x4 petrol/electric ute has gone to its new Brisbane owner. It is one of the first hybrid utes here and uses its ICE engine as a generator (EREV). Output is 320kW/650Nm with claimed EV only range of 100km.

Model: Q4 - e-tron

Released: Jan 2025

Medium size premium fully electric SUV model’s arrival marked by initial price cut and free recharging via Chargefox for a year. All Q4 E-Trons are equipped with an 82kWh battery (gross) while driving range varies from 488km to 540km (WLTP) depending on variant.
