Incoming GWM H6 GT PHEV, the company’s first plug-in Down Under scores stronger performance from combined turbo petrol 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine and no less than three electric motors. Output is 342kW/762Nm, 4.9 second 0-100km/h, claimed 1000km range.

GWM Haval Australia will introduce the coupe-styled GT version of its H6 medium SUV range this month, with the same 150kW/320Nm  driveline found in other H6 derivatives.

The H6 range is now headlined by a 179kW/530Nm petrol-electric Hybrid variant, which features a similar specification to the H6 Ultra, but is said to consume 5.2L/100km (ADR combined cycle).

GWM Haval has launched two range-topping H6 Vanta derivatives (in two- and all-wheel-drive guises). The limited-run Vantas feature 19-inch black alloy wheels with a matching grille finish. 

With buyers increasingly preferring petrol-electric derivatives in the medium SUV market, Great Wall Motors’s SUV sub-brand, Haval, has moved to strengthen its H6 model’s proposition.  

Haval is going upmarket with its new H6 as the medium SUV scores a new look and platform to make it more of a competitor for its Japanese and Korean rivals.
